The sweet couple's lives in "Coronation Street" is about to be tested because Zeedan Nazir (Qasim Akhtar)will tell girlfriend Rana Habeeb a devastating news. He is not ready to marry her.
After a few months of being apart, lovebirds Nazir and Habeeb realized how they loved each other and decided to be more serious about their relationship. The next level could already be a marriage proposal.
Nazir was told by his grandfather that the money is no big deal, and that he just have to borrow it though he does not know where it is intended. He left after an argument with his grandad whom he always looked up to. The former felt betrayed and left out.
Nazir only had his girlfriend Habeeb comforting him, lending him her ears, and had him pour out his heart. He ended up proposing to her, but it was not planned and expected.
"I think Zeedan even shocks himself with the proposal and that's the way I played it in the scene," Akhtar told Soap Squawk. "It's not an anticipated thing but it is the right thing for him to do because he doesn't believe in sex before marriage so this is the next step for him in their relationship."
In the upcoming Nov. 28 episode of "Coronation Street," Habeeb's parents will arrive for a family meal. Habeeb will be uncomfortable as they recall the unsuitable men in her past. Nazir will be happy to escape to the Bistro when he receives a call from Leanne to whom he will confide his worries about him and Habeeb rushing into marriage.
Nazir believes he still has to know more about his fiancée. He will also be upset upon knowing that his grandmother has pawned her family heirlooms including her wedding ring to pay for the wedding, according to The Soap Show.
Nazir and Habeeb will talk about the future of their relationship. She will tackle why her boyfriend has a distant mood. When he reveals he cannot marry her due to personal and family reasons, she will be knocked to the ground.
Nazir had seen the marriage of his own grandparents falling apart and doubt about his own romance. His girlfriend will be hurt and would not want to see him again.
