LG is now offering a full refund for customers who bought the Nexus 5X should they encounter the unfixable bootloop problem because they simply do not have the parts to replace defective phones. They will receive a refund depending on the amount found in their receipt.
After the successful launch of the LG V20, the company is now a target of criticism again by their customers because of the Nexus 5X problem. Google sold the phone along with the Nexus 6P in 2015 but the Nexus 5X seems to be having problems now.
Customers have been complaining after their Android smartphones started experiencing bootloops. Even the developers at XDA forums do not seem to have a solution for the problem.
One customer received an email from LG stating that the company will not be able to fix the Nexus 5X and is offering a full refund instead, Android Police reported. It is quite unfortunate that the bootloops started happening after the Google Pixel and Pixel XL were released as the previous Nexus phones are not being sold by Google now.
Both the Google Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P are now reportedly not being manufactured anymore since the search engine giant has new phones. The lack of parts means that they will not be able to make repairs if hardware is at fault.
It is a good thing that LG is offering a full refund for the defective Android smartphone. Customers do need to note that the refund they will receive will still depend on their sales receipt which means the amount may not be the same for all those who bought the Nexus 5X.
Nexus 5X customers should also remember that they can only get the refund if their device is still under warranty, Digital Trends reported. They should also approach LG and not the retailer they bought the phone from.
Considering that the device was just over a year ago, many customers should still be under the warranty period. Those who opened up their phones could have had their warranty voided though.
