With producer Simon Kinberg eyeing early 2017 as a potential production date for "The New Mutants," a new report revealed a new piece of production artwork. This confirms that the fan-favorite Demon Bear will be featured in the "X-Men: Apocalypse" sequel.

It came to light when an industry source spilled the beans to Coming Soon on Nov. 23. Not much is known about Demon Bear aside from the fact that he draws power from negative human emotions. He is also capable of corrupting human souls and teleportation.

"The New Mutants" will reportedly serve as a major departure from Fox's previous "X-Men" installments, offering a young-adult horror-inspired style that is described as "Stephen King meets John-Hughes." The 20th Century Fox is reportedly targeting a Spring 2018 release date.

Further, the publication was able to confirm that the "Split" actress Anya Taylor-Joy and "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams are being courted to play Magik and Rahne "Wolfsbane" Sinclair, respectively. Nat Wolff, who portrayed Quentin "Q" Jacobsen in 2015's "Paper Towns," is also being eyed for the role of Sam Zachary Guthrie aka Cannonball.

This comes after Kinberg told Collider in an interview that Professor Charles Francis Xavier (James McAvoy/Patrick Stewart) will be brought back for the spin-off. He also revealed that the sequel film will be set in the 1990s.

Penned by John Boone and Knate Gwaltney, "The New Mutants" follows the angst-driven adventures of a diverse group of teens that include Scots girl Wolfsbane, Native American Danielle Moonstar, Cannonball, Brazilian ladies man Sunspot and Russian teen Magik. Also in the mix is an alien named Warlock. More details about the project will be revealed soon.

In other news, Wolff will be seen sharing screen space with Margaret Qualley and Keith Stanfield in "Death Note," an upcoming film directed by Adam Wingard. He plays the main protagonist, Light Yagami, who finds the Death Note and use it to rid the world of criminals.

With an estimated budget of $50 million, "Death Note" is intended to be released sooner or later in 2017. Check out the video below for more information:
