As recapped by WWE.com, Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar are already confirmed for the 2017 Royal Rumble match. The two superstars are already capable of drawing large numbers of fans at the event but the Alamodome in San Antonio is a 65,000-seater stadium.

Goldberg and Lesnar might not be enough so more WWE superstars could be added to the match. Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin were rumored for the event but they will not be in the match. The WWE Hall of Famers will likely take part in a segment or even as hosts for the Royal Rumble.

According to Cageside Seats, there are talks within the WWE that they want to make the Rumble match big as possible. Some of the names being considered for the event are The Undertaker and Cena. Both are big names which will help sold out the event.

However, the appearance of both stars in the Rumble match will have consequences for WrestleMania 33. The two superstars are rumored to be having a match at WrestleMania 33. It is possible that the storyline or feud will start at the Rumble to set up their Mania encounter.

The latest reports from many wrestling media outlets have revealed that one of the plans for WrestleMania 33 is for Cena to win the WWE World Championship. It could possibly be against A.J. Styles but The Undertaker, who is being rumored to win the title at the Rumble, is also an option.

Cena vs. The Undertaker is a dream match for many but it is a very risky decision for the WWE. Cena winning the match will get a lot backlash not just because he defeats The Undertaker. He will win the Royal Rumble match to tie Austin's record, end The Deadman's career at WrestleMania and tie Ric Flair's record of 16 world championships.

Nevertheless, these are just rumors at the moment and should be taken with a grain of salt. Check out the video below to see Cena's surprise return at the 2008 Royal Rumble.
