Just days after YG Entertainment announced 2NE1's disbandment, the former group's leader CL has finally addressed the matter. The 25-year-old K-pop idol apologized to her fans through a letter.

On Nov. 29, Tuesday, CL took to her Twitter account to share a thank-you message towards her fans, which also addressed the group's unreleased album. The letter, which was written in English, has a Korean caption that reads, "I'm always grateful."

In the letter, CL addressed 2NE1's disbandment and expressed her unchanging love for their fans, particularly the Blackjacks. The group's former leader revealed she left everything behind and was in South Korea all summer working on their final album, but it went into disrepair.

In the same vein, Sandara Park shared a handwritten letter on her Twitter account that addressed the group's impending album. The 32-year-old idol stated she is so upset and sorry that 2NE1 could not give the Blackjacks a good music in return.

This comes days after YG Entertainment officially announced that 2NE1 is disbanding. Though 2NE1 is no longer a group, both CL and Dara have signed solo contracts with the label. Unfortunately, there is no new contract for Park Bom.

In a statement obtained by Soompi, YG Entertainment explained 2NE1's exclusive contract expired this May with Minzy leaving the group. After extensive discussion with the remaining members, they have come to the decision to officially disband.

"As 2NE1 was YG's official girl group for seven years, we cannot begin to express how we feel, but we determined that it was too difficult to continue," the official statement reads. "Rather than waiting an unknown amount of time for 2NE1's next promotions, we have decided to focus on the members' solo activities."

Prior to the disbandment news, the four-member girl group appeared to be prepping to come back to the music spotlight with the release of a new album. In late October, Bom surprised fans, by returning to social media for the first time in two years, giving fans a good sign for 2NE1's comeback, All Kpop reported.
