Former University of Kentucky teammates DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall have been talking of joining forces in the NBA just like they used to in college.
Cousins of the Sacramento Kings and Wall from the Washington Wizards, who shared a year playing together for Kentucky in the 2009-2010 NCAA season as both led the Wildcats to the Elite Eight, have been talking of reuniting, Washington Post reported.
When the feisty Wizards guard was asked if he and Cousins talk of coming together again, Wall said they talk about playing for one team every time. Despite more than six years of not playing together, the two All-Stars still bond over dinners and contact each other regularly.
Cousins, meanwhile, heartily shared that the conversation of teaming up with Wall has "come up." He even playfully said that his former teammates, like Eric Bledsoe of the Phoenix Suns whom he also played with in Kentucky, will "all come to Sac."
Boogie added that while he wants both Wall and Bledsoe to play in Sac Town, Wall wants them both to play for the Wizards. Bledsoe, meanwhile, wants them three to play in Phoenix.
Although seeing the three Kentucky alum play for the Kings would definitely be a sight to see, trade rumors surrounding Cousins, as per CBS Sports, has not stopped. The Kings have not made the playoffs since 2006 and during Cousin's seven-year stay with the team, Sacramento still has not barged through the Western Conference's top eight teams.
The 6-foot-11 forward/center still has two years in his contract with the Kings while the spitfire guard will stay with the Wizards until the 2018-2019 NBA season.
Wall acknowledges that Cousins has fell in love with the city of Sacramento and said he also loves where he is today playing for the nation's capital. Wall added that they will try "to figure it out" and hopes that things work out for the best of them former Wildcats buddies.
