One of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 spoilers claim that Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Caroline Forbes (Candice King) would not have a happy ending. Wesley, who is also one of the producers and directors, backed up the spoilers because he thinks that there is no future between Steroline. [Warning: This article contains spoilers.]
Wesley's last directorial job with "TVD" is Season 8 episode 13. When asked about what he thinks about the fate of Steroline's story before he wrapped up his work as a director, he was honest to say that he does not have any idea whether Steroline would be walking down the isle. However, he thinks that it is better that they would not tie the knot in the end.
"I think it would be cooler if they didn't because it would throw people for a loop," Wesley told E! News about his view whether Forbes and Stefan would be tying the knot. "I think people are kind of expecting it at this point, but probably, we can surmise [they are]!"
It was not the first time that Wesley weighed on the fate of Steroline in "TVD" is Season 8. In another interview with TV Line, he admitted that fans play a huge role in the destiny of Steroline. He teased if the viewers want a June wedding, there would be a June wedding.
However, he personally believes that Steroline should not have a happy ending. Wesley thinks that Stefan does not deserve to be happy because all his cruelty in the past.
On "TVD" Season 8 episode 6 titled "Detoured on Some Random Backwoods Path to Hell," Stefan made a huge sacrifice to save the twins Lizzie and Josie. Forbes reminded him that there would be no future for them unless everything is back on track. For her, it is only her, the twins and their father Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis).
Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) manipulated Enzo's mind. Stefan was left with no choice, but to enter Enzo's subconscious. However, his decision to make a pact with Cade (Wole Parks) would lead him a great consequence that could alter his future with Forbes.
