"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" has been out for a month and has garnered generally positive reviews. The game has now officially launched in the Philippines and has received even higher high praises and reviews.

In a review from GMA News, the game was praised for its visuals and fan service. This in particular goes towards how well the game emulates the original anime series and its numerous animated films. It is also stated that the game is designed well enough for beginners to pick up and play while still providing depth for veterans of the fighting-game genre.

Not everything was highly praised. The review also states there are a few issues holding the quality of the game back. Some of the most notable issues revolve around the in-game camera, the restrictions on the online mode and the repetitiveness of the battle system.

One of the most notable problems is the structure of the campaign's story. While it offers points of nostalgia for long-time fans, it is reportedly not welcoming for newcomers who are not well acquainted with the characters and the history of "Dragon Ball Z."

Several updates have been released to work on these issues and to add further content into the game. Most recent updates include Goku Black as a playable character and the first DLC, which launches on Dec. 20, will add Majin Vegeta. It should be noted the review was published prior to the release of any DLC that may affect the quality of the title.

When the game originally released in North America the game was given a slightly lower response from critics. The game notably suffered from the lack of a journal for side quests and the title also lacks depth with its RPG mechanics, IGN reported.

It was further stated that the game suffered from lack of depth in its combat and the single-player campaign was not as well-designed in comparison to the online multiplayer mode.

The original "Dragon Ball Z" anime was released in the Philippines back in 1989 on RPN-9 and later on GMA by 2000. The series has since become a cultural phenomenon and along with "Sailor Moon" and "Voltes V" made anime a popular medium in the country.
