Jo Jung-Suk, who recently starred in SBS' "Jealousy Incarnate," will be making a special appearance in the hit drama "The Legend of the Blue Sea." The SBS drama stars Jun Ji-Hyun and Lee Min-Ho as Shim Chung and Heo Joon-Jae, respectively.

"Jo Jung-suk will make a cameo appearance on 'The Legend of the Blue Sea,' to show his support for fellow agency actress Jun Ji-Hyun," The Kpop Herald quoted a representative from Culture Depot as saying before a group of local reporters. "Jo has yet to film his cameo appearance."

Though there is no word yet about Jo's special role, he will reportedly appear in the seventh episode of "The Legend of the Blue Sea." The said episode is set to air on Dec. 7, Wednesday.

With the fantasy drama's popularity continues to soar worldwide, "The Legend of the Blue Sea" recently hits highest viewership ratings yet. The sixth episode of the SBS drama, which aired on Dec. 1, scored viewership ratings of 18.9 percent, as per Nielsen Korea, as cited by Soompi. It is 2.1 percent higher than that of the fifth episode, which only had an average audience share of 16.8 percent.

Despite its steady climb to the 20 percent rating mark, the series has been slammed by several critics over plagiarism claims. The SBS drama has reportedly copied a couple of plot lines and filming styles from the 1984 film "Splash" and the hit British TV series "Sherlock."

Viewers have noted the scenes that featured Heo Joon-Jae interpreting a man's intention of thoroughly examining its body movements were apparently similar to how "Sherlock" delineated the renowned detective sharp observation skills. Further, Jun's character reportedly resembled the "Splash's" heroine, including the humorous way she read traffic signs, eat, talk and mingle with others.
