Following the launch of the story trailer for "Persona 5" during this year's Playstation Experience event, Atlus has now released several trailers that introduce three of the game's Confidants. Building a relationship with these three will help the player in the game.
According to Persona Central, these Confidants are referred to as business associates and they can include several party members or NPCs that the player will encounter. By strengthening the relationship with a Confidant a player can gain special skills bonuses or a unique service and item.
The first showcased Confidant is Munehisa Iwai and is described as a frightening-looking individual who owns an airsoft gun shop known as the Untouchable. By building a stronger relationship with Munehisa the player will be able to expand his available wares, thus unlocking better types of guns that the characters can equip.
In the second trailer, Tae Takemi is introduced. She runs a medical clinic located in a shady alley. Generally, she is needed to treat the characters of their wounds and status ailments while Phantom Thieving but befriending her helps unlock her experiments, opening up better potions and more types of consumables.
Sojiro Sakura is the third and final Confidant revealed thus far. He is described as the owner of Café Leblanc. Befriending Sojiro allows him to teach the party different coffee and curry recipes, which can be used to create SP-restoring consumables.
He will also share interesting information regarding coffee, Dual Shockers reported.
There will be other confidants included in the game but their identities and bonuses have yet to be unveiled.
"Persona 5" launched in Japan, for both the PS3 and PS4, this past Sept. 15. The game was originally scheduled to launch in North America and Europe on Feb. 14 but had to be pushed back to April 4, 2017 in order to meet the high expectations that the successful Japanese launch had set. A version translated in traditional Chinese and Korean is also scheduled to launch in 2017.
