Like former UFC champ Ronda Rousey who has crossed the octagon ring into the world of acting, current UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor would soon guest in an HBO hit show.

The Sunday Life, a Northern Ireland newspaper, reported that the 28-year-old mixed martial arts champion would guest in one of the two remaining seasons of “Game of Thrones.” A director of “Game of Thrones” who is a UFC fan headhunted Conor McGregor.

There are not much details yet about his guesting such as what character he would play, but if he would guest in the hit TV series, McGregor would likely feel at home because “Game of Thrones” is filmed mostly in Dublin, the hometown of the UFC champ. He was born and raised in Crumlin, a suburb of South Dublin, and studied primary and secondary schools at Tallaght.

He posted in October 2015 a sparring video with Hafpor Julius “Thor” Bjornsson as his sparring partner. Bjornsson, who is 6’ 9”, is from Iceland and a cast member of “Game of Thrones” as Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane.

McGregor was spotted on Friday in Belfast. He appeared at the Devenish Complex for a Q&A and at ChinaWhite nightclub, according to BelfastLive.

In November, he beat Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden. Alvarez was the reigning Lightweight champion, while McGregor was the reigning Featherweight champion. However, UFC asked him to give up one of the titles, so McGregor gave up the Featherweight belt.

His partner, Dee Devlin, is pregnant with their first children. There is speculation that McGregor might fight retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather after he got a license to box in California.

McGregor is not totally new to the klieg lights since he was part of the UFC reality TV series “The Ultimate Champion” where he was coach against Urijah Faber whose member, Ryan Hall, won the fight.
