In "The Next Time I Hurt Somebody, It Could Be You," Caroline and Stefan (Paul Wesley) will decide to spend their day together by throwing a lavish gathering for their loved ones that will be held at the Salvatore mansion. However, the fun event would take a dark turn when an uninvited Damon (Ian Somerhalder) shows up.

The previous episode revealed that Damon has been killed by his best friend Alaric (Matt Davis). At that time, the latter staked his heart after he caused so much trouble in everyone's lives. But since Damon previously made a deal with the devil, he resurrected and turned into an even more dangerous vampire.

Meanwhile, TV Fanatic is speculating on the possibility of Damon actually being dead. Since Sybil has been controlling everyone's mind, it is possible that the events that are about to take place in Mystic Falls are just a product of their imagination.

There are rumors that at least one of the characters will not make it until the end of episode 7. As of late, it is still unclear which character will be killed off. The upcoming installment will also feature a series of flashbacks that will show Cade attempting to entice Stefan with a mysterious agenda.

In other news, "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will go on a short winter break and will return with new episodes starting next year. Up until today, there is still no word on when Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) will return. On her Instagram account, the actress has not been posting any photos of herself with her former co-stars. Her recent post was from her upcoming Women's Health magazine cover shoot.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, episode 7 will air on The CW on Dec. 9 at 8 p.m. EST.
