Ingolstadt has won only once in 13 rounds of Bundesliga competitions so far this season as they are settled in the bottom of the 18-team league table. The team is currently on a two-game winless skid.

In their most recent match last Saturday, head coach Maik Walpurgis' side was nipped by fellow lowly squad Werder Bremen, 1-2, on the road at the Weserstadion, as per Sporting Life.

Bremen opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a left-footed shot from the right side of the six-yard box by German forward Max Kruse from a cross by teammate Fin Bartels.

Ingolstadt was able to level the count in the 58th minute with a goal by Austrian defender Markus Suttner following a free kick.

However, Die Werderaner got back the lead in the 76th as Bartels buried a goal from the center of the box, with the assist this time coming from Peruvian forward Claudio Pizarro.

Meanwhile, newly-promoted side RB Leipzig continued to be undefeated after 13 games in the German top flight after beating middling squad Schalke, 2-1, at the Red Bull Arena also last Saturday, BBC Sport reported.

German forward Timo Werner converted a second-minute penalty kick to give the Bulls the early lead in the match off a foul by Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann.

The visitors found the equalizer in the 31st, courtesy of a goal by Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac to keep a 1-1 draw at the halftime break.

However, Kolasinac buried an own goal two minutes after the restart to virtually hand the win to head coach Ralph Hasenhüttl's boys as both teams went scoreless after that.

With the win, Leipzig remained at the top of the overall standings, three points above defending champions and second-place team Bayern Munich.
