A video recently uploaded by Nicki Minaj on her Instagram account accompanied with a sad emoji created an outrage on the virtual world. On the 43-second video, the "Black Barbies" rapper showed how she is having fun mocking a mentally ill woman while she is inside her car.

In the controversial video that was uploaded Sunday, Dec. 4, Minaj is seen trying to converse with the woman that is obviously suffering from a mental illness. The woman was outranged as she walks away shouting on a South Beach sidewalk. The "Super Bass" rapper, still has not moved on with the situation, tries to pursue the woman to come back saying, "Miss, what did I do? Can we talk?"

As soon as the video went public, netizens who were able to watch the video can not help but think negatively. New York Daily News even reported that the talented rapper has even been accused of perpetuating negative mindset to those people suffering from mental illness.

The US Magazine posted that the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) issued a statement regarding the video Minaj posted. The government agency said that the rapper has been irresponsible with her actions. She still uploaded the video without considering how it could negatively affect her fans especially the younger generation.

"Nobody would make fun of a cancer patient, and mental illness is an illness like any other," a representative of the organization said in an interview. Besides, Minaj also showed disrespect to the woman by filming her without her consent, the representative added.

More than 10,000 comments have flooded in Minaj's controversial video. And almost all of them expressed how disappointed they are with the rapper. Some of them even asked for her to delete the video, which is still has not been done as of yet.
