"Arrow" Season 4 ended with the sudden death of Laurel Lance aka Black Canary (Katie Cassidy). However, the midseason finale for Season 5 ended with several key surprises, including the unannounced appearance of Laurel inside the Arrow Bunker.
Stephen Amell, who portrays Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow, took to Facebook to respond to questions regarding the episode and what the revelations mean for the rest of Season 5, TV Line reported. During the discussion with his fans he did point out that this Laurel may not even be the one that died.
"Is Laurel alive?" Amell asked in response. "People don't just come back from the dead. Obviously there will be some sort of vetting process to determine if it's really her. We delve into that when we come back in the New Year."
The actor further stated that the script for the last few episodes of Season 5 freaked him out. He then promised that the stakes would be raised even higher for Prometheus and that there will be "cool development" before the Season is over.
One of the most popular theories is that this is not a resurrected Laurel but a different version of her. "The Flash" had introduced multiple dimensions, such as Earth-2 and Earth-19, and it would be possible the Laurel in the midseason finale comes from one of these alternate Earths.
This Laurel will not be from Earth-2 given that the Earth-2 Laurel was a villain who went by the codename Black Siren.
In a video feature from Yahoo, it was also reiterated that Laurel's appearance was not the only big surprise. During the midseason finale Oliver managed to fight and kill Prometheus only to find out it was Billy (Tyler Ritter), abducted and gagged.
The second half of Season 5 would dive into the true identity of Prometheus as well as the ramifications of Billy's death.
