The Undertaker is expected to work at WrestleMania 33 but he still has no clear opponent with four months before the event. According to the latest rumors, Dean Ambrose could face The Undertaker at the Grandest Stage of Them All next year.

The 51-year-old legend underwent hip surgery to prolong his already wrestling career even more. However, he has not been cleared to wrestle and he was reportedly seen limping backstage when Raw was in Houston, Texas.

Nevertheless, the WWE is still hoping that The Undertaker is healthy enough to work at WrestleMania 33. When he returned on the November 15 episode of SmackDown Live, he announced that he is going to be appearing on a semi-regular basis.

However, The Undertaker has not returned to television ever since but rumors have been floating around about the plans for his WrestleMania 33 match. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer (subscription required), the plans have not changed for The Deadman and he will wrestle his original opponent at the event.

"I don't know exactly what the plans at Mania are for Undertaker, but we were told stories that plans had changed are not true. The plans are the same as what the original plans were," Meltzer said.

It should be noted that John Cena is the original opponent for The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. But Cena suffered a shoulder injury and Shane McMahon was asked to fill the spot. The match turned into a Hell in a Cell Match with The Deadman coming out on top.

If the original plans are still intact, The Undertaker will face Cena. However, there were reports a month ago that Randy Orton is going to battle The Phenom. It is believed that the WWE wanted the legend to face a veteran to protect his recently-repaired hip.

On the other hand, Blake Oestriecher of Forbes suggested that Ambrose could end up facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33. The match makes sense because The Lunatic Fringe almost cost Team SmackDown the win at Survivor Series and The Undertaker warned him not to screw the blue brand.

These are still purely speculative and should be taken with a grain of salt. Check out the video below to watch The Undertaker send a chilling warning to the members of Team SmackDown.
