Jeremy Lin has missed 17 games and counting due to a hamstring injury suffered on November 2 against the Detroit Pistons. He recently returned to practice and he is listed as probable for the next game against the Houston Rockets but the Brooklyn Nets have no plans to rush his recovery.

The 28-year-old point guard suffered the injury in the second quarter of the game against the Pistons. He was diagnosed with a hamstring strain and he was ruled out for two to four weeks. However, it took him more than four weeks to return to practice.

In an interview with Newsday, Lin revealed that he is going to take it slow before playing again. He mentioned that being healthy is his priority but the silver lining is he can come back to two of his former teams, the Rockets, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

"No, my health is most important. It doesn't matter who we're playing, I'm going to make sure I make a good decision," Lin said.

Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson also said in the interview that he is going to ease Lin into the lineup once he becomes fully healthy. Atkinson noted that getting their starting point guard completely healthy is their priority and not rushing him back to the game.

"I'm going to completely follow the advice of the performance team and Jeremy and figure that out. I know Jeremy wants to play 40 minutes the first game. He's already told me, but I don't think that's happening," Atkinson said.

According to CBS Sports, Lin was listed probably for the game since he underwent heavy training in the last two days. There is no indication if the Harvard alum will be in the starting lineup but there are still a lot of speculations regarding his work load.

If Lin still cannot play on Monday against the Rockets, Isaiah Whitehead and Randy Faye is expected to produce more. In five games this season, the former Knicks star is averaging 15.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.4 steals.

The Nets have gone 4-13 without Lin and they could need more help. They are not the worst team in the NBA just yet but they need all they can get to not finish the season with the worst record in the league. Check out the video below to watch Lin's performance against the Indiana Pacers.
