There is a brand new celebrity couple on the block. Kim Joo Hyuk and Lee Yoo Young have confirmed that they are in a relationship. The news comes as a surprise to fans as the couple have an age difference of 17 years between them.
Kim's agency, Namoo Actors, confirmed the dating rumors on Dec. 13, Tuesday, via an official statement obtained by AllKPop. The statement reads, "Actor Kim Joo Hyuk and actress Lee Yoo Young were good sunbae-hoobae and have recently turned into a couple. After checking with them, it's revealed that they've been dating for about 2 months and are continuing to grow their beautiful love."
The label also requested fans to take the news in a positive spirit and offer the pair love and support. Kim, 44, and Lee, 27, met on the set of the Hong Sang Soo-directed film "Yourself and Yours" and grew closer over their common passion for acting and started dating each other.
A source close to the couple told KoreaBoo that although there is a huge age gap between the two celebrities, they very compatible with one another. "They have a quite a bit of difference in age but they get along so well together that age doesn't even matter," the insider revealed. "They fell for each other during the movie shoot and became lovers slowly after."
Despite being popular faces in Korea, the pair did not hide their faces or be discrete about the relationship as they went on dates with each other in public. They also made time for each other from their busy schedules to spend time together and travel around Korea.
"Yourself and Yours" follows the story of a couple, played by Kim and Lee, who decide to go on a break after a major fight. The following day, Lee's character goes missing and instead a woman who looks exactly like Lee's character shows up and starts dating several men in search of her "Mr. Right" before Lee's character eventually returns.
