German midfielder Mesut Ozil had reportedly agreed to a new deal with Arsenal worth £200,000-a-week for the next five years, according to the DailyMail.co.uk via Soccerisma.

Ozil, who is having a revival year with the Gunners, is just one of several starters (Alexis Sanchez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin ) Arsenal signed or about to sign as they try to compete for the Premier League title this season.

Giroud has also agreed to a one-year extension, while Coquelin's new contract that would pay him £80,000-a-week until 2021 is almost complete.

--French Media Outler RMC Sports reported Ozil asked Arsenal to make a run at fellow German and Wantaway Wolfsburg Julian Draxler. As a matter of fact, Ozil made it a condition for his re-signing.

The Independent UK:

"The Gunners have shown a reluctance to move for Draxler though and did not lodge an offer when he left Schalke in 2015, but various reports suggest that Wenger remains keen on the Germany international and has kept a close eye on his availability over the last season.

French Media Outlet RMC Sport claim that Özil has asked the club to move for Draxler in a demand that would help convince him that agreeing a new deal is the right move for his career.

Özil is not the only player Arsenal have contractual concerns over, with Alexis Sanchez also stalling on a new deal with 18 months left to run on his current terms, but the club believe that Özil is much closer to extending his stay at the Emirates and the addition of Draxler could be the move that seals his future."

Arsenal is very much in contention for the Premier League title at this point of the season, as the Gunner already collected 34 points with 10 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses - tied with Liverpool for no.2 and 6 points behind pace-setter Chelsea.
