The Wyatt Family looks unstoppable at the moment with the addition of Randy Orton. They are the reigning SmackDown Tag Team champions and they might be ready to take over the main event scene. However, the latest rumors imply that Orton will turn on The Wyatt Family soon.
Bray Wyatt and Orton were in the middle of their feud when The Viper unexpectedly joined The Wyatt Family. It was odd seeing Orton with Bray and Luke Harper but it slowly worked on television. The Viper and The Eater of Worlds had chemistry and it led to a big push.
The two superstars were the remaining survivors for Team SmackDown during their Survivor Series match against Team Raw. Then they became the No. 1 contenders for the tag team titles before winning it at the TLC pay-per-view this month.
In an interview with Tom Clark's Main Event, Orton revealed that he was supposed to feud with Harper before his shoulder injury last year. He mentioned that he is looking forward to battling Harper in the future but he noted that he is currently enjoying his run with The Wyatt Family.
"Harper's great. Like, before I was injured, I was supposed to work with him in a singles match, I think in the pre-show of Hell In A Cell in 2015. And I was looking forward to that. We've never touched," Orton said.
"And somewhere down the line, I'm sure that'll happen too. But for now and the next long while, I see my future being with them and dominating SmackDown," he added.
Many fans expect to eventually turn on The Wyatt Family at some point just like with Daniel Bryan back in 2014. However, it seems like Orton, Bray and Harper have more chemistry than anticipated so their partnership could be extended.
The Wyatt Family is supposed to face The Hype Bros next for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. But Zack Ryder suffered a knee injury and he recently underwent surgery, per Wrestling Inc. Unless Mojo Rawley finds another partner, it looks like the WWE is going in a different direction.
Other teams on SmackDown include American Alpha, Breezango and The Ascension. The WWE is still waiting for WrestleMania 33 push American Alpha while the two other teams are heels. Nevertheless, enjoy the current run of The Wyatt Family because Orton will surely turn on them.
