Dragon Ball Super will be entering a new saga next year and it will bring back fan favorite characters like Master Roshi, Majin Buu and previous villain Android 17. On Friday, Toei Animation has released the official poster and synopsis for the Universe Survival Arc.
The Universe Survival Arc, which will feature the much-awaited tournament pitting elite fighters from all 12 Universe, is scheduled to begin on February 15.
Piccolo, Majin Buu, Master Roshi, Android 18 and Krillin are all welcome addition to the Universe 7 team led by Goku and Vegeta, but the appearance of Android 17 and the returning Ultimate Gohan on the poster should get everybody pumped up.
Here's the Synopsis for the Universe Survival Arc:
"At Goku's request, the Omni-Kings' "Tournament of Power" martial arts tournament between universes now begins, but this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquished...?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out...?!
DBS producer Shunki Hashizume also provided hints on what to expect in the upcoming star-studded and intriguing arc for Dragon Ball Super.
"Dragon Ball Super enters its new chapter, the "Universe Survival Arc". As you can see from the main visual, it'll be a full-throttle story where Goku and the rest of the Universe 7 warriors form a team to take on a tournament between universes! Android 17 and Majin Buu are there too, so personally I can't contain my excitement at the thought of what kind of fights we'll see! Look forward to this new chapter that'll be sure to feature super-intense battles with nonstop appearances by the elites of each universe!"
Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, provided the original draft for the story and characters. Teaser video for the Universe Survival arc will be released in the coming weeks.
