“Love in the Moonlight” star Park Bo-gum is on a roll. It seems the fourth quarter of 2016 is his time to shine as the first three quarters were that of “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki. However, it seems the Hallyu ban by China and being busy on shooting “Battleship Island” has reduced Song Joong-ki’s visibility, while it is the opposite for his Domino’s Pizza bromance partner.
Park Bo-gum is now in Hong Kong for the 2nd leg of his 10-nation Asian tour on Saturday, Dec. 17. He could soon be hit by gay rumors following the publication of his photos and videos being too touchy to his male manager, after Song Joong-ki was also hounded by similar questions about the “Descendants of the Sun” actor’s sexual preference.
To top it all, Park Bo-gum is number 1 on the newly released 10 Most Favorite Drama Actors in 2016 conducted by Gallup Korea. He was followed by Song Jong-ki, Song Hye Kyo, Kim Yoo Jung, Jo Jung Suk, La Mi Ran, Gong Hyo Jin, Go Doo Shim, Jeon Ji Hyun and Jim Hee Ae.
According to a report, Gallup Korea held the survey, which had 1,700 Koreans aged 13 and above as respondents, between Nov. 4 and 25. The respondent picked two names.
Survey results, though, are not consistent with the ongoing 2016 KBS Drama Awards which is still in the online voting phase with the scheduled awards night on Dec. 31, hosted by Park Bo-gum. In the survey, “Descendants of the Sun” ranks third as Best Drama, while Song Hye Kyo is also third as Best Actress and the SongSong couple third as Best Couple.
However, in the Best Actor category, Song Joong-ki has climbed to 2nd place from 3rd, but the current leaders are Lee Jong-suk and Han Hyo-joo of “W Two Worlds” in all four categories. However, Song Joong-ki could rise further if he finishes shooting “Battleship Island” and the movie is shown by the first half of 2017.
In the meantime, he posted on Instagram his photo with the other stars of “Battleship Island” while they are having a meal. Co-stars Lee Jung Hyun and Hwang Jung Min had normal happy faces, while Song Joong-ki and So JI Sub had wacky poses. Once the movie shows, Song Joong-ki would likely regain the top spot and attract as well all kinds of rumors.
