A photo of “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki elicited a lot of “envious” comments from female fans because he was holding a beautiful female fan in his hands – Xingxing, the baby daughter of Korean actress Zhang Ziyi.

At the Shanghai fan meet of the 30-year-old actor on Saturday, July 16, it was his turn to be carried. But the one carrying him is a dear friend Kim Jong Kook who was his cast mate in “Running Man.”

It is not the first time that Song Joong-ki has teased the public with his bromance photos with fellow Korean actors. In June, he recalled a bromance moment in Greece when he engraved the name of Lee Kwang Soo in stone and when they serenaded fans with a bromance duet at a fan meet. On the same month, the commercial endorsement of Song Joong-ki and Park Bo Gum for Domino’s Pizza also had a bromance angle.

In April, Jin Goo shared his bromance photo with Song Joong ki and in June, he had dinner with former bromance partner Yoo Ah In and Song Hye Kyo after the 52nd Baeksang Art Awards where Yoo Ah In shared his Best Actor award with Song Joong Ki.

Based on the posting of the Shanghai fan meet, it appears that Song Joong-ki and Kim Jong Kook were in a contest who could spin faster while holding their noses and the first one to finish sits on a stool. It was the “Descendants of the Sun” actor who got to the stool first, but his buddy Kim Jong Kook took the smaller actor by surprise by carrying him like a baby, to the delight of the fans who watched the event.

The next day, Kim Jong Kook posted another bromance photo of the two – taken before the fan meet – with his arms around Song Joong-ki, reported Soompi. He then posted the picture on his Instagram account with the caption, “I’m really happy that this guy is doing well. He’s a good guy. Loyal. I hope he and Lee Kwangsoo do even better in the future. My dongsaengs.” The photo got 220,000 likes and elicited 2,700 comments in 22 hours.

The actor broke into tears at the Shanghai fan meet, reported Ki Aile International, a Facebook fan page, when he read a letter of thanks he wrote for his followers in the Chinese financial capital city. He said that he had a lot of concern before the start of his Asian tour, but after four months and 10 cities in South Korea, Thailand, China, Taipei and Hong Kong, his attitude changed.

“It’s very personal and I can’t tell you in every detail, but please know that because of you I was able to change into a person I am more proud of. I am more confident now than before,” he read.
