"I'm happy that I'm able to take on a new character so soon after the conclusion of my previous drama," Kim told Korea Joong Ang Daily. "I chose to become involved with this drama in order to challenge myself."

Jung So Min will also star in the film as Byun Mi Young, the third daughter of the Byun family. Unlike her siblings, Mi Young does not have captivating looks or extraordinary intelligence, but she makes up for it by being genuinely nice. She works at the entertainment agency where she meets Lee Joon's character Ahn Joong Hee. The possibility of having Lee Joon and Jung So Min being paired in a drama is something fans are looking forward to.

After his departure from MBLAQ, Lee Joon has since shifted his focus from singing to acting. The idol-turned-singer now has a prolific acting portfolio and his latest appearance was in the comedy blockbuster "Luck-Key."

"Father is Strange" tells the story about married couple Byun Han Soo (Kim Young Chul) and Na Young Shil (Kim Hae Sook) and their four children-one boy and three girls-who have very distinct personalities. The father then reveals his secret identity just around the time that his children are preparing for a wedding. According to MSN, the drama also focuses on the never-ending-ness of a marriage and family life.

The drama will take over the timeslot of "The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop." "Father is Strange" will be directed by Lee Jae Sang, who previously worked on KBS2 drama "Bel Ami" in 2013 and "Trot Lovers" in 2014.
