Rocksteady's "Batman: Arkham Knight" was the developer's final "Batman" video game but publisher Warner Bros. Entertainment is not yet done with the character. New rumors have emerged suggesting that a new "Batman" game is in the works, this time under Warner Bros. Montreal, and that it will feature Damian Wayne as the vigilante instead of Bruce Wayne.
According to Kotaku, insiders from Warner Bros. Montreal have suggested they are indeed developing a new game and that Damian will be underneath the cowl. No further details were shared, however, and it is uncertain if the game will bear any similarities to the "Arkham" series that preceded it.
In the original comic books, Damian Wayne is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. He was raised by the League of Assassins but was later taken in by his father, eventually becoming the next person to wear the Robin outfit.
There is also a comic issue, "Batman" issue 666, in which a possible future is shown where Damian grows up and succeeds Bruce as the Batman. This storyline may be the basis of the new video game although there are other comic books of which the game may be build its story from.
However, the adult Damian as Batman is notably different from his father. Damian was depicted as having no problem in murdering criminals when necessary and also had a few super powers that made him more powerful than his father ever was. He was often depicted as a more vicious Batman than Bruce.
It is further pointed out that this type of storyline was also teased in the ending of "Batman: Arkham Knight." This teaser was only accessible if the player managed to finish the game with a 100 completion rating.
No title has yet been revealed but it is expected to bear the "Arkham" name given the popularity of the franchise, Games Radar reported. Warner Bros. Montreal did develop "Batman: Arkham Origins," proving they do have experience in making this type of "Batman" game.
