The Dragon Seed Effect:

As the bloody war between the Ishgar Dragons and Westland Dragons came to an end, Irene, the very first Dragon Slayer, found out the power granted by the Dragon of Virtue, Belserion, was already taking over her body.

When the Dragon Seed matured enough, the Dragon Slayer would face the inevitable transformation. Irene was about to become a full-fledged Dragon, which is something that alarmed even her brethren from Dragnov Kingdom and other human territories.

Erza's Father Revealed?

Perhaps, the biggest revelation in the chapter is the identity of Erza's father. I thought the Dragon of Virtue, Lord Belseroin, father Irene with Erza. Apparently, I was wrong because the spoiler from the upcoming chapter revealed that the man posted above is none other than the father of Erza Scarlet - the new Guild Master of Fairy Tail.

I know he looks like a rip-off from a character in one of your favorite manga/anime series (Eraserhead from Boku no Hero Academia), but the fact a human impregnates Irene rather than a Dragon gives me some sort of relief.

Irene revealed that he was a general from the neighboring village. She was married off to him as a political pact between two villages. At the end of the war where Acnologia obliterated every human and Dragons in his sight, including Belserion, the general took care of Irene during the darkest moment of her life.

The Fate of Irene Belserion - The Scarlet Despair

Finally, Chapter 515 exposed Irene's Dragonification. With the Dragon seed maturing inside her body, Irene has slowly turned into a Dragon. When she was confronted by his lover, Irene seemed to have lost her sense of being human and developed wings that resemble that of a Dragon. By that time, it's too late for her to turn it back.

Infuriated by her lover's action of killing the child inside her belly, Irene transformed into a full-fledged Dragon and stomped on the helpless General. He burned everybody in her sight and flew away from any human civilizations with deep regret of becoming a Dragon.

400 years had passed, the Dragon Irene met Zeref in an unknown mountain. At first glance, Zeref knew she was a human and easily reverted her back to original human state, although just her physique.

Yes, Irene is still a Dragon in her human form, having no sense of taste, struggling to sleep and enduring the pain of her true nature.

The Enchantment:

I am You, You are me is explained in a rather complex way in this chapter. You see, as Irene craved of becoming a human again, she tried to complete an enchantment that would allow her to merge with her unborn child, who turned out to be Erza. However, Irene said she never completed the enchantment, so out of frustration she decided to leave Erza in a village (presumably Rosemary Village).

Chapter 516: The Truth About Enchantment

This is where things get a little bit more intriguing. Irene stressed that she never completed the enchantment that will unite her and Erza. However, the title of the next chapter suggests the other way around. Perhaps, the enchantment was completed after all. Erza and Irene are now one person, so it means either of them can't afford to die or the other will suffer the same fate.
