Such speculation came about as both of "Boruto's" writer and artist, namely Ukyo Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto, affirmed that the young hero will be having an anime in the coming year. The said reveal was the seconded by Shonen Jump's official Twitter page and it even posted on when will it be released, Anime News Network reported.

Kishimoto, who was also present at the said event and was quoted saying that he plans on surpassing what "Naruto" has reached through "Boruto."

Another plausible follow-up to "Naruto Shippuden" is "Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring." It narrates what transpired after the fourth shinobi war and heavily zeroed in on Sarada which is the daughter of Sakura and Sasuke, Otaku Vine reported.

The writers of "Shippuden" are believed to add more stories to its "Shinden" light novels that currently has a couple of story arcs and both are focused on Itachi and Sasuke respectively.

As of late, the aforementioned Sasuke arc dubbed as "Book of Sunrise" had a four-episode run this month that ended last Dec. 22 with the episode entitled "The Ketsuryugan." The other three are "The Exploding Human," Coliseum," and "Fushin."

Prior to "Shinden," writers dished out a series of light novels known as "Hiden" ("Naruto Secret Chronicles") that has featured notable characters in the Naruto mythos such as Kakashi, Shikamaru, Sakura, Gaara, and even the feared ninja collective of the Akatsuki.
