Heartache awaits beloved "Goblin" characters as Eun Tak (Kim Go Eun) and Shin (Gong Yoo) deal with the truth about their shared destiny. Latest spoiler news teased of Eun Tak's new life outside of the goblin's home in episode 9.
"Goblin" episode 8 featured the devastating revelation of Eun Tak's fate should the goblin decide to stay by her side and continue protecting her from harm. Released on Dec. 24, Saturday, the goblin's bride also learned the truth behind Shin's magical sword and how pulling it out from his chest will end his life.
In the upcoming episode 9, Eun Tak will decide to leave the goblin's opulent home thinking that her absence will protect Shin from his cruel fate. It appears that her growing feelings for Shin will prevent her from ending the goblin's life.
Shin will also have a hard time coming to terms with what the deity told him about the main reason behind Eun Tak's existence. With the goblin's bride destined to pull out the sword and end Shin's immortal life, delaying the said action would only lead to Eun Tak's early death.
Despite Eun Tak's decision to run away, Shin will still try to locate her but he may be too late in finding his bride. A preview clip released by tvN showed Eun Tak suddenly collapsing on the floor with tears running down her face.
Meanwhile, a behind-the-scenes clip unveiled by tvN, as obtained by All Kpop, showed Gong and Kim's co-stars Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na struggling to complete production activities despite the cold weather. Filming a scene on the streets of Seoul at night, the two South Korean celebrities are the epitome of professional actors as they stayed true to their characters while the cameras are rolling but cutely exclaiming how cold they are once the director yells "cut!"
In other news, "Goblin," also known as "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God," will be released in Japan through the Mnet channel. A CJ E&M representative told Korean news outlet Joins that the tvN production will premiere in March 2017 on Mnet Japan.
