Marijuana legalization has been a highly sensitive topic in the United States. However, despite the ongoing debates, it has been rumored that a certain cigarette company will soon start selling marijuana cigarettes.

Although the news of a potential marijuana cigarette production and sale originally came from a satire website, some cannabis enthusiasts still hope for its realization. One of the world's most popular cigarettes brands has been reported to be joining the marijuana legalization trend and start producing marijuana cigarettes, according to Collective Evolution.

The concern for marijuana legalization continues to be a highly debated topic in some states, especially in the aspect of recreational use. Some advocates continue to see the recreational use of marijuana as a euphemism for abuse, and the speculated marijuana cigarette sale may complicate more the current issue of legalization.

Some opponents of legal marijuana firmly believe that the legalization is not a step geared towards a right direction. The human consciousness should first be cultivated before injecting the legalization of cannabis in the society. Without proper education, marijuana use or even potential sale of marijuana cigarette could lead to bigger societal issues.

Moreover, the safety of recreational use of cannabis has been poorly understood, according to Scientific American. Although some experts affirm that marijuana is safe enough to temporarily alleviate symptoms of specific medical conditions, like that of cancer, the threat of long-term effect still lingers in the background.

To date, marijuana has become more popular and accessible in the United States. A national survey revealed that 48 percent of Americans shared that they have tried using weed. The 6.5 percent of such population are high school students who admitted using weed daily.

In view of the given facts, a thorough research and cautious decision making should be exercised by legislators concerning the legalization of marijuana use. A borderline between safety and addiction should be identified and mitigated.
