The latest details for "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will feature Reverse-Flash' plan for the Spear of Destiny and Martin Stein not erasing his daughter Lily from timeline.
The second haft of "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will feature the Legends team battling the Legion of Doom consisting of Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) as they search for a powerful mystical weapon called the Spear of Destiny and they will need the former captain of the Waverider Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) to find it, Screenrant reported.
Cast member Maisie Richardson-Sellers stated in an interview that Rip will be back in the show, but he will not be the same as he was before in season 1.
Sellers added that Rip's disappearance during the show will be have a big impact in the plot details for "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2. Sellers also told the publication that he character Vixen will be seeing her old teammates from the Justice Society hinting she will see them on "12".
Executive producer Greg Berlanti hinted that Rip will return but will no longer be captain nor leader of the legends crew. Comic book fans and viewers might see a reinvented Rip who has already moved on from the troubles of his past and now wants to enjoy his life. Co-showrunner Marc Guggenheim added that Rip's return to the show will a have huge twist on "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 as the viewers will first ones to know before the legends find him.
It was during the midseason finale of "Legends of Tomorrow" that Rip became a director of sci-fi movie in 1967 based on his exploits as a Time Master and now has an American accent. The circumstances of his change is still unknown, but YouTube Channel Emergency Awesome claimed that Rip might have wiped his mind as a defensive measure against the Legion of Doom knowing that the group will go after him.
Emergency Awesome added that Reverse-Flash will use the Spear of Destiny to become a god-like being and kill his rival Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) from existance as he knows that by killing him, he will not exist in the first place. Thawne will also use the spear as a way to rewrite all of time and reality for his own agenda.
In other news, it seems that Martin Stein (Victor Garber) will have his own conflicts of his own during the second haft of Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 regarding his daughter, Lily Stein (Christina Brucato).
Lily is the result of Martin's aberration of the timeline when he interacted with his younger self not giving his wife Clarissa the attention she needed. This resulted in Martin memories of a mysterious young woman and it during the four-night crossover that Lily is his daughter, which comes as a shock to Martin.
Martin's daughter also helped the heroes against the Dominators during their invasion of Earth by creating sonic devices against them.
Now, Martin will not likely erase Lily from the timeline as he is not an aberration, but his daughter, GameNGuide reported.
"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will return on Jan. 24, 2017 at 9pm on the CW Network.
