"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is not the only "Spider-Man" movie coming out as Sony Pictures is also in development of an animated film. While very little is still known about its story, new information has surfaced indicating the movie will feature Miles Morales as Spider-Man and not Peter Parker.

A casting call for a film titled "Cabin Fever" has popped up on Backstage. The post reveals Sony is aiming to hire two teenage male actors. It is also notable that the movie comes from Sony Pictures and will focus on the adventures of "two unlikely friends." These two main lead characters are named Terrence and Pete.

Terrence is described as an African-American/Puerto Rican teenager from Brooklyn. It is further stated he feels out of place and is burned by new responsibilities. While developing his identity he loses his friends but ends up making a new one in Pete.

Pete is described as an Asian-American teenager who is both geeky and smart. He is also notably quite different from Terrence's old neighborhood friends.

While there are no indications this job post is in relation to the animated "Spider-Man" movie, it is the only project from Sony that fits the description, according to Screen Rant. Films still in production often use temporary names to prevent spoilers from leaking. Both descriptions match the characters of Miles Morales and Ganke Lee from the comic books.

The animated "Spider-Man" directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, are already well experienced in helming a buddy-cop movie. They worked together for both "21 Jump Street" and its sequel. They also have experience with animated films, having worked on "The Lego Movie."

Miles Morales, in the "Ultimate Spider-Man" comic books, earned the mantle of Spider-Man after Peter Parker died fighting the Green Goblin. Unlike Peter, Miles had a few advanced powers such as limited invisibility and a paralyzing "venom strike."

Sony Pictures has yet to confirm or deny if the casting call is indeed for the animated "Spider-Man" movie. The film will open in theaters on Dec. 21, 2017. A trailer for the upcoming live-action "Spider-Man: Homecoming," which stars Tom Holland, can be viewed below:
