Capcom's Hideaki Itsuno, known for directing popular video games such as "Dragon's Dogma" and several of the "Devil May Cry" titles, has revealed he is working on a new title. He also confirmed that he will make a proper announcement sometime this year.

Itsuno made the announcement via Twitter as a greeting for the New Year. However, he did not reveal any further details such as what kind of game he is making and whether it is a brand new IP or if it is a sequel to some of the games he made in the past.

"Devil May Cry 5" was first teased by voice actor Nils Hognestead back during E3 2016. At the time, his resume had revealed he was reprising his role as the lead character Dante for a fifth game. His resume has since been edited, with all references to "Devil May Cry 5" removed.

A fifth main title would also mean Capcom is going back to the original series instead of releasing a sequel to the 2013 reboot, "DmC: Devil May Cry," which starred Tim Phillips as a younger re-imagining of Dante. A proper fifth game may also indicate the return of "Devil May Cry 4" protagonist, Nero.

Itsuno's most recent endeavour was "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" and it is possible he is working on a new "Dragon's Dogma" game, Game Rant reported. This is his second most popular series following "Devil May Cry."

He has worked on other franchises as well including the cult classics "Rival Schools" and "Power Stone," Dual Shockers reported. There is the possibility that he is bringing these franchises back to life with a sequel or a reboot of some sorts.

It is further stated that Capcom is focusing a lot on HD remasters and remakes given the success of "Resident Evil HD Remaster" and the upcoming "Resident Evil 2 HD Remaster." This indicates Itsuno may also be referring to a remaster of his previous work if he is not working on a sequel, reboot or new IP.
