The latest details for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will feature a possible late 2017 release date and Mega Man X and Captain Marvel to have an important role to the sequel's story.

Several rumors are making rounds regarding the possible release date for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" next year. The first trailer of the game only hinted a 2017 launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms. However, it is hinted that the sequel could be out in the later part of next year, either in third or fourth quarter.

Unless, Capcom has actually been developing the title for a huge amount of time and thus has nearly all of the work done on it, there is still a great deal of work to do for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" before the game can be released in all gaming platforms, Segment Next reported.

Meanwhile, Marvel and Capcom teased the sequel's unique storytelling as they finally tell gaming fans on how both worlds collide in the first place.

Capcom representative Michael Evans teased the "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's" storyline will be the pillar of the game and the new characters Mega Man X and Captain Marvel will play an important role into the plot.

Marvel Game's representative Mike Jones added that the "core" foundation that Marvel made from TV series, movies, games etc. is the storytelling and so with the new emphasis on the cinematic story mode and the story of how these two universes collide, and how the characters meet. it drove a lot of the creative decisions for what characters to use in the game, EventHubs reported.

Both Mega Man X and Captain Marvel will be the new playable characters in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" along with veteran fighters Ryu, Morrigan, Captain America and Iron Man.

The sequel also return to its two-on-two tag team style match ups, unlike the three man team in the previous games. Plus, the Infinity Stones are featured as powe-ups for characters with Ryu using the Power Stone to strengthen his attacks, while Captain Marvel came move faster with the Time Stone.

Capcom added that "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will feature a a single-player Arcade, Training, and Mission mode, as well as a cinematic Story Mode that puts players in between both universes as they fight to the top to take on the game’s new villain who is revealed to be at the end of the cinematic trailer.

Several characters are already been pitched by gaming fans such as Loki, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, Asura, Leon S. Kennedy, Jin Saotome and many more.

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will launch sometime in 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
