"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will continue to see Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) co-parenting their baby. However, executive producer Shonda Rhimes clarified that taking care of their child is not the only major story arch for the characters.

While speaking with TV Line, Rhimes said that it has already been established that April and Jackson can work together as parents to Harriet. In fact, there have been several instances wherein fans thought the estranged couple will reunite because their relationship has become healthy as ever. Rhimes might have also hinted on the possibility by saying, "What is great is that parenting has nothing to do with their storyline this season - it gets much more interesting than you would imagine."

Meanwhile, Drew spoke with the same publication during a separate interview to say that April and Jackson will always have feelings for each other. Not only are their Harriet's parents, they have also gone through a lot of tough times while depending on each other.

In September, the actress explained April and Jackson's relationship with each other by saying that there is definitely lots of love and a bit of carefulness because they do not really know what they are to each other. "It is challenging waters to navigate. In some ways, I feel like the audience is going to be like, 'Why are you not getting back together? What is wrong? Where is the conflict?'" she said.

In other news, April and Jackson are not the only two characters whose relationship status will be explored in the second half of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) may also come clean to Maggie (Kelly McCreary) about her fling with Nathan (Martin Henderson).

Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex (Justin Chambers) are still madly in love with each other, but they could not act on their feeling because of the latter's ongoing case. Jo has been receiving help and support from Andrew (Giacomo Gianiotti), and it is possible that he has started to develop some feelings for her.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will return to ABC on Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. EST.
