Faraday Future is now receiving reservations for FF 91. The company claims it has received overwhelming response from customers.

Faraday Future tech startup had unveiled its first electric car named FF 91 ahead of the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017 in Las Vegas. The production of the electric car is supported by LeEco. At the launch event of FF 91, LeEco president Jia Yueting was seen actively involved in the unveiling of the electric card, Gizmo China reported.

According to a tweet from Faraday Friday, it has received 64,124 reservations within 36 hours of its launch. Customers can either opt for free or paid reservation for FF 91. Paid reservation requires customers to make a payment of $5,000 as deposit.

Faraday Future has not revealed how many customers among 64,124 have opted for free or paid reservations. However, speculations have it that more number of customers may have opted for free reservations and at least a few of them may have paid for it.

At the FF 91 launch event, Faraday Future neither reveal the price nor the release date of its first electric. However, rumors that it would be costing around $150K to $200K. It is expected to hit the roads not earlier than 2018.

The FF 91 sports a hybrid design that brings the best of minivan and coupe. It appears long and has a lowered chassis which indicates that the car has an ample interior space. The car is able to hit zero to 60 mph in just 2.39 seconds with a hefty 1,050 horsepower onboard. By completing charging the car once, it can run for 378 miles. It is packed with a 130 kW battery, Slash Gear reported.

The Faraday Future FF 91 is packed with plenty of sensors for tracking other vehicles and people around the car. The car is smart enough to remember the preferences of the driver and it automatically activates preferred settings when it recognizes the driver through facial and iris recognition. The car is also equipped with self-driving feature.
