The January window for football transfers officially opened last Jan. 1. Although, the biggest transfers usually occur during the summer transfer window, the need for clubs to get immediate reinforcements have forced them to make big money bids for star players in the middle of the season.

One football star who always seems to be at the center of the transfer rumor mill is Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez. Fans of Arsenal football club are now fearing that one of their star players will angle for a move away from the club this transfer window. This is due to a series of disappointing results, including their recent draw against mid-table Bournemouth, which has left them in fourth place.

Former Manchester United striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez is also the subject of a number of transfer rumors. Bayer Leverkusen are willing to listen to offers for Hernandez following a dip in the striker's form despite his promising start in German, according to the Daily Mail. Rumors claim that Leverkusen are willing to part ways with Hernandez for a sum of around £21.4 million.

One youngster that could go to the Premier League for an exorbitant amount is Celtic forward Moussa Dembele. He has been in stellar form recently, scoring 19 goals in 36 appearances this season. This has put a number of elite European clubs on red alert, but the 20-year old has a £20 to £30 million price tag, according to the Express.

Nathan Ake, who is currently on loan at Bournemouth, has revealed his plans to go back to Chelsea and become an established first team player there. Meanwhile, Southampton have confirmed that their captain Jose Fonte has formally handed in a transfer request. Rumors have suggested that Manchester united want to snap up Fonte to reinforce their back line.

Clubs in lower leagues are also looking to make some deals this transfer window in order to make their way up to the Premier League. One such example of this is Championship side Aston Villa who want to make their return a soon as possible after a disappointing Premier League campaign last season. They are hoping to complete a deal for Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury around the region of £3 million.
