For more than 900 years, Kim Shin the goblin has been patiently waiting for his bride to be born, as she is the only one who can take out the sword lodged in his chest. It is only by removing the sword that Kim Shin can put an end to his immortal state. However, shortly after he met Eun Tak, the goblin found himself falling in love with her and dreaming to have an endless future with her.

Since its debut, the series has caught the hearts of several k-drama fans around the world. Now that the series is already about to end, messages on various social media platforms indicate that fans are worried over the possible death of either Kim Shin or Eun Tak. According to them, they are not ready to see the death of either of the two in the upcoming finale.

Speculations about the death of one of the two major characters grew stronger when the previous episode hinted at Eun Tak losing her status as the bride of Kim Shin. This came after she seemed to have lost her ability to see ghosts, as well as after her birthmark disappeared. Earlier, the Shamshin grandma told Eun Tak that she would cease to exist if she fails to remove the sword from the chest of Kim Shin.

In other news, "Goblin" recently topped a TV popularity chart, overtaking "Hwarang," The Korea Times reported. The series, which airs every Friday and Saturday on TVN, scored 287.7 points, emerging as the no. 1 TV program during the week of Dec. 27 to Jan. 1.

On Jan. 14, the series will air a special episode instead of a regular episode, TVN announced via All Kpop. The next regular episode will air on Jan. 20, to be followed by episode 15 and 16 that will air back-to-back on Jan. 21.
