For those uninitiated, the story revolves around Jim and his friends becoming a hero of the Earth and another planet inhabited by trolls. The group wanted to save one of their friends who got trapped in another dimension so they are geared to fight against the villains in that other dimension. Like del Toro's highly acclaimed works, such as "Pacific Rim" and "Hellboy," "Trollhunters" is full of equally good and exciting fights. In fact, the protagonist was voiced by none other than Anton Yelchin.

Interestingly, both series has elements of classical fantasy, action and mythology, which has become popular in small screens. The movie is also full of excellent adaptations of East Los Angeles setting. However, "Trollhunters" got more attention than usual in the previous days due to its mash-up with the highly anticipated series "Stranger Things 2."

The recently released trailer showed highlights of "Trollhunters" with a "Stranger Things" feels, as the background music, fonts and editing styles of Stranger Things can be obviously seen. Both shows deal with the typical fight against evils and monsters, outer worlds and a bit of romance.

According to Dread Central, some of the voices behind "Trollhunters" characters include Anton Yelchin for Jim Lake Jr., Charlie Saxton as Toby, Kelsey Grammer as Blinky, Ron Perlman as Bular, Steven Yeun, Jonathan Hyde, Lexi Madrano, Amy Landecker, Fred Tatasciore, and Guillermo del Toro.

The "Trollhunters" series is produced by Cha Cha Cha Films and Dreamworks Animation and is currently airing.
