"Fifty Shades Darker" star Dakota Johnson may seem timid on screen and in real life, but the actress actually cares a lot about how she looks.

In a recent interview with Pop Sugar, Johnson revealed that she exerted effort in dieting and exercising to get the best figure in time for the filming for "Fifty Shades Darker."

"Obviously, I want to look good naked. I totally understand now why people exercise, because it kind of feels awesome," she said.

Johnson also revealed that she cut on carbs and consumed more fruits and juices before and during the back to back filming for "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed." On top of her diet, she also did Pilates regularly.

While speaking with E! News, Johnson's Pilates instructor Mari Winsor revealed that Johnson has been in and out of her studio almost every day while preparing for her role as Anastasia Steele.

"Dakota has been coming into the studio since the middle of January almost every day... Pilates is changing her body, relieving her stress. It's a private place for her to come and do the work," Winsor said.

Typically, Johnson will exercise for an hour and will be able to burn 400 to 500 calories per session. She also uses the mat and the reformer machine. Winsor added that the actress is very coordinated and flexible.

Meanwhile, Johnson will be starring in "Fifty Shades Darker" alongside Jamie Dornan. The latter will reprise his role as Christian Grey in the sequel. A teaser for the movie has just been released by Universal Pictures, and it confirmed that there will indeed be plenty of sex scenes between the co-stars.

On top of their steamy sex scenes, Anastasia and Christian will also have intriguing and dark storylines involving some people from their past. At one point in the teaser, Christian's former submissive, Leila Williams, even pointed a gun at Anastasia. Christian's nemesis, Jack Hyde, also tried to have sex with Anastasia while they were at the office.

"Fifty Shades Darker" will be released on Feb. 10 in theaters in the United States.
