A small portion of "Battlefield 1" players claim to have been banned for being too good at the game. The reason behind the possible wrong bans is the game's FairFight cheating detection system.

According to Game Rant, "Battlefield 1" uses the real-time cheat detection system that primarily detects botters, hackers, and players that use other forms of cheating. However, it seems that the detection system is the primary source of the problem, as it accidentally bans players that show exceptional skills during certain fights.

According to Kotaku, FairFight uses the Algorithmic Analysis of Player Statistics (AAPS), which compares the stats of players to the average skill level of everyone else. Basically, it aims to put a red flag to sudden jumps of a player's statistics due to a crazy kill streak and the like.

The cheating detection system also takes into consideration the occurrence of events that cannot be achieved without the aid of hacks. It does not add up though, as some of the highly seasoned players report that their accounts were banned even after playing the game normally for thousands of hours.

One of these players include kL-Spazmo, who also owns a YouTube Channel where he claimed to have been banned after FairFight flagged him and a similarly skilled friend as cheaters. They were booted out of the game while they were playing extremely well during a match on Amiens.

Spazmo is a well-seasoned "Battlefield 1" player who played more than 2,800 hours in FairFight enabled games. All those times, he never got a single ban, and as such he voiced his outrage by saying that the stats were good enough not to be considered as cheating.

As of now, Spazmo and several other players managed to get the attention of DICE Producer Ali Hasoon to talk about the ban privately through Twitter. It does not guarantee that the players will be unbanned, unfortunately.

"Battlefield 1" is now available for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Here is Spazmo's video when he got banned.
