The NBA trade rumors have taken over the NBA headlines as we move to one month before the trade deadline.

This has led to numerous trade rumors that may seem crazy or too simplistic, but there has actually been more head-scratching transactions in the past.

One of the more curious scenarios being floated around is a trade between Rajon Rondo and Derrick Rose. Both point guards are hogging the headlines as various issues erupted for them.

For Derrick Rose, it was his sudden disappearance from the team. He went AWOL in their game against the New Orleans Pelicans stating "family issues" as the reason. Rose was merited a fine but the Knicks decided not to suspend him.

Rajon Rondo doesn't even have to be suspended at all. He has been benched in the Chicago Bulls' last few games-even receiving DNP-CD(did not play, Coach's decision)  lines.

According to David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune, Rondo's "daily presence gives everybody in the organization an unnecessary worry for a team committed to eliminating dysfunction." The mercurial point guard could become a locker room cancer, but it can't be said that this was unexpected.

Pundits already criticized the idea of combining Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo and Jimmy Butler. "The three alphas" experiment did not work out, and that was no surprise. It's also not a surprise that Rondo was the source of dissent.

On the other hand, hoops followers celebrated Derrick Rose's arrival in Madison Square Garden. The former MVP was predicted to have a resurgence with a change of scenery. That was true as Rose had his best season since his MVP win.

Rose has already dodged a bullet when his rape charge was dismissed, but he is still hounded by personal problems. When it was known that he was in Chicago during his absence, the easy conclusion was a trade between Rondo and Rose.

However, the Bulls have already traded Rose even if they won't get a starting point guard in return. The team, and most would say, the city, has moved on from their former hometown hero. On the other hand, Rondo has been open with his criticism of the Triangle Offense which Knicks president Phil Jackson runs.

Will this trade happen? Crazier things have happened but there doesn't seem to be a point for a trade between them except for the fact that they are All-Stars who play the same position.
