BoA and Jon Won confirmed to be dating; TVXQ’s Yunho the matchmaker?

Hours after rumors about actor Joo Won and soloist BoA's romance started doing the rounds, it has been confirmed that they are indeed dating. News of the new celebrity couple on the block took the media by storm after a local media outlet reported that Joo and BoA were in a relationship.

The report claimed that both stars started dating in late 2016 after being introduced to each other through a group of common friends. The couple apparently started off as casual acquaintances, but eventually fell for each other after a particular event.

Joo and BoA also share common interests like golf, hiking and leading a healthy lifestyle. Moreover, the couple also shares the same taste in music. Shortly after reports of their romance became public, Joo's agency Huayi Brothers issued an official statement obtained by Koreaboo, confirming that the news.

"Joo Won is in a relationship with BoA," the agency said. "We did not check in-depth with Joo Won since it is a personal matter, but we will confirm it."

BoA's agency, SM Entertainment, followed with a statement to the same publication saying that Joo and BoA grew closer due to their shared interests. "They have a lot of common interest in music and acting so began growing fond of each other," the agency revealed.

Netizens are now speculating that it was none other than TVXQ's Yunho who set them up. Yunho and BoA are both artists under SM Entertainment and have been friends for more than a decade. When Yunho enlisted in the military, BoA visited him in person and also posted about it on her Instagram account.

Meanwhile, Yunho also shares a close friendship with Joo. Previously, the "Sweet Sixteen" actor has previously opened up about it.

"Yunho recently called me when he was on leave," Soompi quoted Yunho as saying. "His style is quite manly. He sent me a video of him getting his head shaved the day before he enlisted."
