"The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere began with the brutal killings of two beloved characters Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz). Despite the show's huge fan base, it was heavily criticized by both viewers and the Parents Television Council for being "graphically violent."

AMC has taken a move to address the backlash. The remaining scenes of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 will have less bloody scenes as revealed by "The Walking Dead" executives at the NATPE conference on Jan. 18, Wednesday.

"We were able to look at the feedback on the level of violence," executive producer Gale Anne Hurd told Variety. "We did tone it down for episodes we were still filming for later on in the season. This is not a show that is torture porn."

Fans and critics of "The Walking Dead" were shocked at how the AMC zombie apocalypse series showed the brutal murder of the characters using Negan's wired baseball bat Lucille. At one point of "The Walking Dead" Season 7, Glenn's eye popped out after he was hit by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) on his head. For many critics, they believe that the show has gone too far from showing disturbing graphics and sounds.

Hurd defended that the show did not cross the line. She also explained that they immediately toned down the scenes following the criticisms. AMC Networks president/CEO Josh Sapan did not take the notice below the belt, but took it constructively on how fans care about the show.

The show did some alterations on the rest of the scenes for Season 7. However, the "The Walking Dead" Season 7 mid-season finale still showed some graphic violence when Negan slashed Spencer's (Austin Nichols) abdomen and exposed his intestines, The Huffington Post reported.

When the next episode returns, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is raging an all-out-war against Negan. This time, Rick would not permit Negan to underestimate his leadership by killing his people. He is now ready to fight back with the help of Daryl (Norman Reedus), Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin).
