Chris Jericho is one of the WWE's most recognizable talents and perhaps one of Canada's greatest sporting exports as well. So it came as no surprise that Jericho has come to the defense of his fellow Canadian athletes. This became evident when his fellow WWE superstar accused Canada of having only one outstanding athlete out of their 35 million plus population in the form of NBA player Steve Nash.

It all began when Rusev played female wrestler Renee Young in a game of basketball. He then remarked on social media that he was rather surprised that a Canadian actually played the sport quite well, to which Young responded that her country has already been able to produce notable basketball talent such as the aforementioned Nash. This was the setup to Rusev's statement that Nash is the only notable current Canadian athlete.

Hailing from Canada himself, Jericho did not take to this lightly. He turned Rusev's statement around and used it against him, saying that there are zero good wrestlers from Bulgaria out of their over 7 million population.

Surprisingly, Rusev did not even use himself as an example of a good Bulgarian wrestler. He instead stated Andre the Giant, who is actually only half-Bulgarian and was born and raised in France, according to Fox Sports. Jericho's burn was so harsh in fact, that Rusev could only respond by mocking his in-ring persona and making crude remarks about his age. Surely age is just a number, as evidenced by the fact that Jericho was able to claim the WWE United States championship from Roman Reigns who is 15 years younger than him.

Jericho was supposed to face Dean Ambrose as well at WrestleMania 32, he said in an interview with Busted Open Radio. However, because his partnership with Styles was so well accepted by fans, WWE officials decided to extend their storyline instead and had them duke it out at the "grandest stage of them all."

Aside from beating younger wrestlers, Jericho has also collaborated with them various times. He has formed alliances with current WWE world champion AJ Styles as well current WWE universal champion Kevin Owens.
