"The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev is keeping herself very busy with various appearances seemingly making it impossible for her to return to the hit The CW series.
Over the past couple of weeks, Dobrev appeared AOL's "Build," "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" and Harry Connick Jr's show. During her interview with the latter, Dobrev shared why she decided to jump off a mountain during one of her recent trips.
"It is fitting that I am in an action film because I am a bit of a thrill seeker and risk taker. Recently I was doing press for 'XXX' in Brazil, and as a result I had to miss my girl friend Lauren's birthday. It was her 30th birthday, and I was really bummed they were going to Thailand, and it was this big trip I was supposed to go on. In lieu of that, her husband - she is married to Aaron Paul - he asked me to send her a video while they were in Thailand saying, 'Happy Birthday, I'm bummed I cannot be there,'" she said.
Meanwhile, with all of Dobrev's recent appearances, as well as the recent release of her movie, "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage," it seems impossible that the actress will still have the time to return to "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale.
While speaking with Nerdist, executive producer Julie Plec said that the only reason why Dobrev will not make it to the finale is if her schedule will not be able to accommodate it.
But in the end, Plec is committed to giving fans an enjoyable finale to the hit series. "I wanted to be able to take all the love stories to their best possible conclusion, whether it be a happy ending, a tragic ending, a sad parting, what it was that each relationship in my mind needed in order to properly revolve itself. I wanted to make sure we did that so, there was nothing left unanswered," she said.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
