A number of WWE legends, including Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, have made their returns to professional wrestling over the past couple of years. Because of this, it is now being suspected that 2017 WWE Hall of Fame inductee Kurt Angle will make his return to the sport in the upcoming Royal Rumble.

Angle built an extremely successful professional wrestling career on the back of being a gold medalist back in the 1996 Olympic games. He won multiple titles with the WWE, but ultimately left the promotion back in 2006. He has also worked with other promotions such as Total Non-Stop Action (TNA) Wrestling, winning multiple accolades there as well.

However, wrestling fans may be disappointed to learn that Angle currently has no plans on returning to competition. "The Royal Rumble is not going to happen. A lot of people are assuming it, a lot of writers are writing about it," he told TMZ Sports in an interview. He added that the WWE has not yet talked to him about anything aside from his induction into their Hall of Fame.

Angle has stated that he believes that the WWE will want to work with him again in the near future, but there are no plans as of right now. He is also not sure whether this will be wrestling-related or if he will work in an ambassadorial role like fellow WWE legend Shawn Michaels.

Meanwhile, the betting odds for the 2017 edition of the Royal Rumble have been released. Braun Strowman is the current favorite to win the competition by a mile with odds of 1/2 (meaning a successful $2 bet will have a $1 return), according to Wrestling Inc. The Undertaker is also among the favorites to win this year's rumble, with odds of 3/1.

Samoa Joe is not even part of the main roster nor has he confirmed that he will be taking part in the Royal Rumble, but reports of him being promoted to WrestleMania status as soon as possible have prompted odds of 5/2. The odds of Goldberg winning the match have also improved significantly to 4/1 from 10/1 just a couple of days ago.
