Nam Joo Hyuk, 22, said he would like to work again with Lee Sung-Kyung, 26, following the success of their drama "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo." In the MBC coming-of-age sports drama, the two Hallyu stars portrayed Jung Joon-Hyung and Kim Bok-Joo, respectively.

Nam, who made his acting debut in the tvN drama "The Idle Mermaid," just stole the hearts of many after playing a talented swimmer with a playful personality in the 16-episode drama. Due to his unique portrayal of the character, the model-turned-actor received many messages from fans telling him that he is a boyfriend material.

However, Nam wants to show an entirely different image in his next projects. While he wanted to maintain the cute aspect, he also wants to show a more manly side of himself. The actor made this clear during a recent sit-down interview with the local media, as cited by Soompi.

Nam then mentioned his interest in working with his "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" co-star in a different drama in the future. He said, "If the opportunity arises, I would like to act with Lee Sung Kyung again and create a different type of fun chemistry."

From the MBC drama, the conversation quickly turned to the actor's personal life. Nam admitted his feelings usually stay for a long time, recalling his admiration towards a girl when he was in third grade. He said he liked the girl for three years before they started dating in the sixth grade.

"It was nearly six years," Nam recalled. "I'm curious about what she's doing these days. I used to sporadically ask how she was until I was 20, but I haven't talked to her in a while since then."

Though dating is not in his vocabulary yet, Nam candidly discussed what he likes in a woman. He said he admires Lee's character because of her words of encouragement, adding that it is nice to have someone who continuously gives him strength.

Currently, Nam is in negotiations to play the lead role in tvN's upcoming fantasy drama "Bride of the Water God," The Kpop Herald reported. If he accepts the offer, he will play The Water God, a temperamental deity who takes the most delightful woman as his bride in exchange of rain.
