"Toukiden 2" will be released on Western shores for several platforms. Westerns fans of the demon-hunting JRPG are excited for its release.
Koei Tecmo announced on their official website that the open world demon-hunting JRPG will be released in North America on March 21 and in Europe on March 24. It will launch on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system, and on Windows PC through the Steam platform.
The game company provided the details of the video game's story. It tells the story of an event known as the Awakening, when the Oni ravaged the world and left it in ruins, and where a group of Slayers sets out to defend the city of Yokohama and drive back the enemy.
In one of the biggest battles between the Slayers and the Oni, one giant demon emerged and opened a portal that swallowed one Slayer in the process. After 10 years, and with no memory of the past, that same Slayer wakes up in Mahoroba Village. Players will be taking control of that mysterious Slayer, and will set out in the ravaged world to solve the mystery behind his or her disappearance.
The players will be accompanied by a unique cast of characters, which are Hakase, a professor who wants to learn the truth of the world, Tokitsugu, a Machina that has a human soul, Gwen, a young British Slayer and master of sword and shield. They are also joined by Benizuki, a kind-hearted person who is also known to be the strongest Slayer in town, and Homura, the ex-thief who becomes a slayer and uses a chain whip.
The Professors constructed a unique device for the Slayers, which let it create a physical manifestation of their thoughts called the Demon Hand. Using this device, it lets players grab their enemies and throw them into the air to land blows from above. It also lets them make other moves that make them evade attacks and slam the Oni into the ground.
Players will meet other creatures that are friendly in the world of "Toukiden 2." These friendly creatures will aid them in their quest and provide them with materials that can improve weapons and armor. There are also the Tenko companions that they can save from peril, while exploring the Otherworld.
A fan wrote on the official website of Reddit that he cannot wait for the video game to launch in March. A promotional trailer, which can be viewed below, was revealed by the game company as well, showing some of the companions the players will meet in the game.
