With the recent release of "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," the release date of the game's first set of DLCs is announced. The variations between the console releases might cause some disappointment to some, especially those who own the Xbox One version of the game.

According to the official "Resident Evil 7" website, the first volume of the "Banned Footage" DLC will arrive on Jan. 31 for the PlayStation 4 owners. However, for Xbox One and PC, the content will arrive a month later.

The large release date disparity between the two could possibly rile up PC and Xbox One owners, as the game has a relatively short game length. With only around 10-15 hours of playtime, players will most likely start looking for more content to play with.

As for the "Banned Footage Volume 1" DLC itself, it will feature two new chapters and an extra mode. The first chapter, called "Bedroom," players will be placed in a locked room where they must do their best not to alert Marguerite Baker while trying to escape.

The second chapter is called "Nightmare," aptly titled for its primary objective: survive waves of gruesome enemies until morning comes.  The players are situated in the basement where they need to shoot their way out.

The extra mode, called "Ethan Must Die," is a particularly interesting mode since unlike the other banned footage chapters, the mode is set in an alternate universe. The Baker mansion has been remade, which now has a plethora of horrifyingly deadly traps and is described as the ultimate challenge for the game.

Meanwhile, "Resident Evil 7" has been receiving fantastic reviews from various Game outlets. According to a Game Spot review by Scott Butterworth, the game has a clear vision and it is executed with impressively great patience and precision. It is described as a return to its horror roots, making it something really special once again.

"Resident Evil 7" is now available for the PC, PS4, PS VR and Xbox One. Here is a game trailer:
