The games for this year's Evolution Championship Series or EVO, a fighting game tournament, have been unveiled. While the list contains some of the usual games such as "Tekken 7" and "Street Fighter V," the list also contains the high-speed 2D fighting game, "Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2."

This comes days after "Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2" was announced on Twitter for the PS3, PS4, PC and Arcade. This updated version is only coming to Japan this Spring, Siliconera reported. It will be available for owners of the original "Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator" as paid DLC.

Both Answer and Baiken will be added as playable characters. There will also be new episodes for Jam, Dizzy, Kum and Raven. There is a new scenario planned for the game's Story Mode as well. A free-to-play tutorial and tweaks to the game's online mode are also confirmed.

No announcement has yet been stated for a Western release for "Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2." With the game making an appearance during EVO it is widely speculated that developer Arc System Works will launch the game in North America too.

Only eight games were announced for EVO as the ninth game will be voted by fans, Playstation Lifestyle reported. This list includes "Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2," "Street Fighter V," "Tekken 7," "Super Smash Bros." for the Wii U, "The King of Fighters XIV," "Injustice 2," "BlazBlue: Central Fiction" and "Super Smash Bros. Melee."

The games that players can vote for include "Mortal Kombat XL," "Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3," "Skullgirls," "Pokken Tournament," "Killer Instinct," "Super Street Fighter II Turbo," "ARMS," "Nidhogg" and "Windjammers." "ARMS" is launching for the Nintendo Switch in March.

EVO will take place at the Mandala Bay hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tournament will run from July 14 to July 16. The official announcement trailer for "Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2."
